We recently completed the makeover of City Salon and Spa in Athens, GA. Here are some of the before and after photos of the transformation.
One of the things that Olive (The owner of City Salon) expressed to us was that her current display wall was too deep and it was taking up too much space in the reception area. Plus the laminate was just not very flattering for the aesthetic of the salon. So, we came up with a concept for floating shelves.
We wanted the products to seem as if they were floating on the wall and we didn't want to take up any floor space. So, we mounted floating shelves out of reclaimed wood and then built the reclaimed wood wall behind the floating shelves. It turned out better than we imagined it would.
More laminant! Olive wanted us to do away with the multilevel reception desk and come up with a simple flat surfaced desk to match the reclaimed wall.
This is what we came up with. A simple desk that is functional and doesn't create such a separation from the clients during the check in/check out process.
The original coffee table was too small for the space and the couch.
We created a coffee table that fit the space and is more functional. With a shelf on the bottom now magazines and other things can be stored below allowing the top to be styled and clean.
We went into the salon with some great ideas on transforming the space and we feel like we really pulled it off. We took the vision from Olive (the owner), put our creativity to the test, and gave the salon a wonderful makeover. We are so pleased with the outcome and so is Olive. We cant wait to transform the next space!
